President's Column Ok folks I have some bad news, some good news, and some maybe good news, so I will get right into it! First some good news! Dan (Rude) Buergermeier is on his way home from the hospital as I am typing this. He will be recovering at home. We wish Rude God Speed in his recovery and look forward to seeing his ol grumpy self real soon. Rude wanted me to tell everyone Thanks for their concern. It's nice to know your Brothers and Sisters care for you. Noreen Freed was diagnosed with cervical cancer today. Bad News. The good news is it is in the early stages and they think they can get it all with surgery. I have talked to Wally our Chaplin and ask him to continue her and Dave on his prayer list. They have and continue to do so much for our organization it saddens me to see then go thru so many hard times. I am however confident they will come thru this just fine. They are our Brother and Sister. more... Events ReportCheck out our Upcoming Events page on the Website and mark your calendars so you don't miss anything coming up this riding season! Web Site AnalysisIt's that time of year where there is something going on every weekend. A ride, a campout, a get-together with friends, etc. It seems the only real problem is squeezing everything you want to do in amongst all the other obligations on the calendar. Of course with our busy schedules it's easy to lose sight of the real priorities. Ride and ride safe. Get that bike out there and have fun. The riding season is short, so don't let it sit in the garage. Otherwise you may be regretting it later in the year, especially once the cold weather starts rolling in. Be sure to check the Website often for the latest event news on rides and other activities. Just to name a few events coming up in July, there is the Honor Flight Ride, the TRAIN MRO Covered Bridge Run, and Ride for Smiles. more... |
Special News Bulletin The TRAIN MRO membership voted to suspend membership dues for 1 year due to tough economic times on the recommendation of the Board of Directors. All members will receive a renewal notice in the mail with a note explaining how to go about the renewal process. Our hope is this will help everyone a little as we try to do our part to keep our members from having to decide if they have the extra money to renew. During this time we will also be offering free membership to folks who would like to be a part of this great membership-run organization. All they have to do is come to an TRAINMRO Event or meeting to sign up! This is a bold effort by all the Directors to show we care about our Brothers and Sisters and you mean more to us than a few bucks. Be sure to fill out your renewal when you get it and tell your friends it is now FREE to belong to TRAINMRO. Get Onboard!!!!!!! Membership ReportAs membership director, I think it's important for me to be as personable as I can possibly be. One of my duties is to send out reminder renewal notices. I could send these out via e-mail, but I felt this would be too impersonable and chose to mail these letters instead. This year I've started mailing the letters on a more personable note. I've started changing each months letter so I can inform our members of any upcoming events. If I have fliers available for upcoming events, I include them with my reminder. I'm also trying to process the renewals and new member applications in a timely manner so they can get their cards quickly. more... Road Captain's ReportCome back later for a word from Ken. Products ReportHi my name is Kathi and I am looking forward to having even more fun this year selling products. My goal for this year as the product director is to be available to any one wanting to buy products. I plan to bring the products to each meeting for people to see, buy, and ask questions about. This year I would like to move some of the old products to make room for the new designs. I would like to hear what people think would sell. I plan to work closely with others to find a new design that would catch the eye of other riders. I plan to look for the lowest price and good quailty products to order. I plan to keep accurate inventory of the products. I look forward to working closely with the other directors . I enjoy meeting and talking to new people so I am looking forward to each event. I look forward to hearing about any ideas you have about products. Thanks Kathi |
