President's Column (continued from home page)Nov 20thThe Christmas shopping day will be Saturday Nov.22 at 12noon. We will be meeting at Toys R Us at Eastgate (next to Sears). We used to go to Johnny's Toys but they no longer exist in Ohio. The manager at Toys R Us said they would give us the same discount. See You There!! Don't forget the meeting Friday night in Lebanon! Our regular meeting will be this Friday evening Nov. 21 at 6:30 PM at Buffalo Wings and Rings in Lebanon {the old Frisch's). This is the last meeting of nominations so be sure to attend! Our Christmas Party will be at the Landen Sports Bar on Dec. 13. All the folks bringing food are ask to be there at 5pm all others at 6pm. This will be a great party!!! Mark your calendar! For the folks bringing food you are ask to arrive at 5pm. This is the same place we were last year so I hope everyone remembers where it is at. Oh Yea! It was decided by the Board of Directors last night that there will be LIVE Music after the auction and we dug down in our pockets and pulled out the green. That's right Brothers and Sisters, thru the generosity of some of our Directors and a discount rate from The Breeze (Thanks Fellas) we will have live music at No Charge to the organization. A Christmas gift to our Members from The Board of Directors and The Breeze Band!! This is going to be a GREAT PARTY!! Mark your Calendar!!! I would say I will dance but after eating all that food I will have to pass ! Bring items for the Auction so we can provide for the kids next year! I was contacted by Bob Anderson about us doing traffic control for the Lebanon Christmas Parade again this year. The parade is on the 6th of December and has become a tradition for us. The Date is Dec. 13 and it will get started at 6pm. For the folks bringing food we will be there at 5pm to get set up. Bring some things to auction for the Toys for Toddlers! There will be live music at 10pm by The Breeze. Just 5 bucks allows you to fill up on the great food! Also Santa will be there for the kids as always. This is a Family Christmas Party so feel free to bring the kids to set on Santa's lap for pictures. This is always a great time!!! Noreen Freed is recovering from surgery at home and doing well. The doctors say they got all the cancer and we wish her Gods speed in her recovery. I am working on our AMA Charter and Sanctioning for next years events. Mike Oct 29thI would like to Thank everyone that has sent me their AMA numbers for our Charter, however I am still 3 numbers short. This paperwork has to be completed by November 7. If anyone else is an AMA member please get me the number. Also the AMA Risk Management meeting is November 8 in Circleville Oh if anyone would like to go. You Must attend this meeting if you will be doing AMA paperwork. I talked to Donnie and he is working on the Christmas Party. I will be sure to let everyone know when everything is final and we have a date and place... Stay tuned! The procedures committee will be meeting this Saturday November 1 at Dwight Oakey's house in South Lebanon at 6 pm. All are invited to attend! The Twisted Spokes regular meeting is Nov. 2, 12 noon at Jens on Rt 4. Come on out and show some support for these folks!!! Take it from me folks it is a hard job to be a Director. It takes allot of time and dedication to do these meetings and to stay focused when you hold a full time job. It takes Member support to make the job seem worthwhile. This IS a Membership Run Organization. Take the time to show up at some of these meetings and let your Directors know how you feel. Your voice WILL be heard!! Mike Oct 24thI talked to Dave Freed and Noreen's surgery was a complete success. They got all the cancer and she is home on the mend. That is great news. We send our Best Wishes to Noreen and also wish her God Speed on the recovery process. We look forward to seeing her on the back of Dave's bike next spring. I was ask to let everyone know about a ride Sunday October 26 for underprivileged children which will leave from Tri-County H-D at 1:30PM. Its a Halloween Ride and you are encouraged to wear a costume if you like. Also bring a 10 pound bag of candy to hand out to the kids. The ride is free and lunch will be served starting at noon. They are looking for 5 to 600 kids to turn out. I guess they ride to a pre-determined school and line the bikes up and the kids come out and get candy. They are hoping for a good turn-out! I will be attending a NCOMM meeting in Columbus November 7and 8 to bring us up to speed on what, if anything, is going on. I will have details when I return. We still need any AMA Members we have to submit their AMA numbers for our 2009 Sanctioning paperwork. All numbers need to be sent to me before Nov. 7. Mike Oct 16thWell folks if you missed the Ken Criswell Memorial Covered Bridge Run you missed one heck of a ride and a great time. Approximately 150 bikes and well over 200 people showed up to take the ride and a better day we could not have ordered. This was one of the biggest rides we have ever done! It was truly amazing!!! A great job of riding was done by all. I could go on and on but the Thank You list is long and distinguished so here goes. The Criswell Family, Marti, Carol, Tricia, Anthony. Ken would have been proud!! We love ya all!! RoadWheeler Magazine for their support and participation and also for the donation in Kens name to the Toys for Toddlers. Preacher and the gang from Freedom Flame. Our Brothers and Sisters from across the river Max, Roxy and the KMRO, The CMA and our Chaplin Wally for our Prayer, Ray Bell, Walt and the staff from Country Kitchen, Nicks in Xenia, Little River Cafe,The Twisted Spoke Chapter of TRAINMRO, Jim (the Music Professor) Labarbra our Celebrity, Ken Donnie , Sue, and Jessica and everyone else that attended. We have them this month and in November and our election is in December. I ask all of you to attend our regular Meeting this SUNDAY October 19 at McCualys 12 noon and nominate your favorite folks for a directorship. If you would like to nominate someone already in office show up and support them. The folks that do these jobs for the most part put in many hours of attending meetings of other organizations, events, and allot of computer time and phone time, donate their time and money to do all these things and they need support from YOU!! These are ALL Volunteer positions, Noone gets Paid!!!! It is very time consuming so come to the Meeting and show Support for these fine folks. It is after all YOUR Organization!! Noreen Freed will be undergoing surgery I believe the 21st of October. She will be in the hospital several days and recuperating at home for 2 months. Keep Noreen in your prayers and we wish her God Speed in her recovery. We also look forward to seeing her on the back of Dave's bike, Healthy next season.
